Job Description

We are looking for candidates with a background in the sawmill industry.  Individuals with prior work experience are encouraged to apply, however we are willing train the right candidates on the job.  Candidates will be performing the following functions: removes wood from conveyor, stacks wood in designated area.  Physical requirements: heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting.  Cleanup duties will be part of the daily job functions at the sawmill.  Must be able to work in fast paced environment while maintaining safety.  Candidates need to have a good attendance record and able to work any shift.  Qualified individuals can apply in person or respond to this posting by emailing a resume and cover letter.

Job Description

Performs a variety of administrative functions including general office and clerical duties. Responsible for accounts payable and receivable, shipping backup, and all daily office functions.  Please read below for additional information.  Qualified individuals can apply in person or respond to this posting by emailing a resume and cover letter.  Refer to the Application tab for contact information.

Education & Experience

  • Education:  High school diploma or equivalent
    Short-term on-the-job training
  • Clerical Experience:  Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, excel spreadsheets, QuickBooks, managing files and records, and other office procedures and shipping terminology.
  • Customer and Account Services Experience:  Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent front line customer service. The ability to meet and exceed standards for each area in which employee is responsible for. Understanding the importance of accuracy on all customer and internal accounts.

Responsibilities

  • General Office: 
    • Answer phones and direct calls (answer or resolve when possible)
    • Open and sort mail to departments
    • Assist incoming foot traffic [employees, customers, sales etc.]
    • Office orders [office supplies, chemicals, misc. planer supplies, medical supplies, PPE supplies, Safety program tracking and orders]
    • Clerical maintenance [document shredding, file organization, , order monthly service on Canon, maintain all office needs]
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Receive and keep track of incoming invoices
    • Match with corresponding POs by dept.
    • Input into QB according to terms / Print checks
    • Scan and file / shred after retention year is over
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Receive customer payments
    • Input into QB / match to invoice
    • Prepare deposit(s) and ensure bank delivery
    • Run open invoice report weekly & communicate with customers if they are past terms
  • Shipping:
    • Double check all orders
    • Provide backup to Shipping [all paperwork related to trucks]
    • Ensure all proper documentation is included if FSC
    • Invoice customers
    • Copy tags, then scan and file invoice folders, log each folder in shipping book
    • Assist in monthly inventory calculating

Environment

Indoor office exposure, but not limited to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.
