Job Description

We are looking for candidates with a background in the sawmill industry.  Individuals with prior work experience are encouraged to apply, however we are willing train the right candidates on the job.  Candidates will be performing the following functions: removes wood from conveyor, stacks wood in designated area.  Physical requirements: heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting.  Cleanup duties will be part of the daily job functions at the sawmill.  Must be able to work in fast paced environment while maintaining safety.  Candidates need to have a good attendance record and able to work any shift.  Qualified individuals can apply in person or respond to this posting by emailing a resume and cover letter.

Job Description

Green Chain / Forklift Driver – Swing Shift

Position includes providing resaw to the sawmill, moving and keeping track of inventory, dipping and banding loads, & stacking timbers.  Looking for self-motivated applicants who have the ability to prioritize and keep track of the expected duties each night while multi-tasking.  Tally or inventory experience is a plus.  Candidates need to have good visualization skills, good communication skills, and be able to handle stressful situations. Individuals need to be able to work quickly and efficiently. Prompt and exceptional attendance is a must in this position.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent

1+ years of verifiable forklift experience preferred.

Basic Skills

  • Physical Aspects:  Applicants need to be able to lift, push, pull, stand, kneel, and walk, for minimum of a 9 hour work shift.
  • Teamwork:  Applicants need to be able to work well with others in a fast paced environment and be willing to help out where needed throughout the work shift.
  • Attendance:  We are a production facility that needs applicants with excellent attendance records and good work ethics.
  • Work History:  Applicants need to have verifiable work history and experience as a forklift operator in an industrial environment.
  • Shifts:  Applicants need to be willing to work any shift that best meets the needs of the company.

Job Description

Journeyman Millwright - Maintenance Personnel

The Maintenance team is responsible for keeping the sawmill running efficiently and effectively with as little downtime as possible. Preventative maintenance to equipment and machine centers is required as well as planning and completing mill projects.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Individual is not required to be carded but certification is preferred.

Knowledge

Technical Maintenance Skills– Individuals need to be well versed with hydraulic motors, cylinders, & valves. High attention to detail and the ability to diagnose and fix maintenance issues is a requirement. Basic millwright skills are required and includes basic installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment. Experience using specialized tools such as welders, capable of reading blueprints, and fabricating are all aspects of the job the individual must be familiar and well versed in performing. Knowledge with parts and pieces and able sort through inventory is part of everyday maintenance. Oiling, greasing, and performing preventive maintenance to all machinery can be expected.

  • Technical Skills:  Applicants need to have an array of technical skills that would enable them to diagnose and fix any machine or equipment issues.  This would include being able to diagnose electrical issues and find potential hot spots and fix the issue in order to meet codes.
  • Learning Strategies:  Applicants need to be willing to learn our equipment and how to best fix it to avoid future issues. Working with operators to understand the issues is a requirement.
  • Attendance:  We are a production facility that needs applicants with excellent attendance records and good work ethics.
  • Work History:  Applicants need to have verifiable work history and experience as an active electrician in an industrial environment.
  • Shifts:  Applicants need to be willing to work any shift that best meets the needs of the company.
  • House Cleaning:  All crew members are expected to take part in keeping the shop well maintained and organized. All maintenance personnel are to pick up parts, materials, and tools from the work area after completing projects and return them to designated areas.
  • Accountability:  All maintenance personnel is responsible for keeping the mill operating, diagnosing, & repairing any issues as they arise. Repairs are not to be left for the next shift unless there is a valid reason as to why the repair needs to be postponed. The maintenance supervisor is in charge of overseeing the entire maintenance crew and each member is to report to their supervisor on all maintenance issues that occur.
