Job Description

We are looking for candidates with a background in the sawmill industry.  Individuals with prior work experience are encouraged to apply, however we are willing train the right candidates on the job.  Candidates will be performing the following functions: removes wood from conveyor, stacks wood in designated area.  Physical requirements: heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting.  Cleanup duties will be part of the daily job functions at the sawmill.  Must be able to work in fast paced environment while maintaining safety.  Candidates need to have a good attendance record and able to work any shift.  Qualified individuals can apply in person or respond to this posting by emailing a resume and cover letter.

Job Summary

Verify and maintain records of outgoing shipments.  Prepare bill of lading to include lumber tallies, board footage, and all other required documentation.  Ensure accuracy of paperwork and customer orders as they are loaded and shipped out.  Communicate with loading operators on any changes or discrepancies needed prior to truck leaving the facility.  Review, input, and process work orders for the sawmill.  Generate weekly reports for production meetings.  Work together with shipping team to create an efficient and accurate department.  Provide excellent customer service on shipments and customer orders.  Assist with front desk operations and provide backup as needed.  Indoor office exposure, but not limited to distracting sounds and noise levels.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Short-term on-the-job training
  • Customer Service or shipping experience
  • Working knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems including Excel and Quickbooks,
  • Inventory Control and tracking experience
